Hello, I am Bill Pupkis.  My passion is building custom furniture, cabinets, toys, and gifts that are inspired by some of the classic forms of American period furniture, such as Arts & Crafts, Shaker and Moravian. Recently I started making stick furniture from saplings to create tables, stools and chairs similar to those seen in the Adirondacks.  I even used a stump I dug up to make a lamp.

By using modern power and classic hand tools along with time tested joinery techniques my pieces can be passed along through generations.

As a teenager I was introduced to woodworking as a carpenter's helper.  Each summer throughout high school and college I worked for the same builder working my way up to carpenter, and this love for working with wood has remained my entire life.

When our children were young I built trucks, cars, planes, toy boxes, doll houses and cradles. Then I built larger items: chairs, beds, and chest of drawers.  Although most were because we needed the items, some I built for friends.

All of these items I built on weekends, which usually meant 1-2 days a month because I still had a day job, "honey-do-lists," and family trips.

Now having retired from a successful career in business I am looking forward to transforming this passion of working with wood into something more than part-time.

If you are looking for a special toy, unique piece of twig furniture from Maine, or a classic handmade piece of furniture please call or email me to discuss what you have in mind.
